The conference programme will take place at the university campus: Building G, Univerzitni namesti (University Square), 3rd floor, so-called small auditorium (No. 312).

Workshops: pre-conference seminars

→ Workshops are 90 minutes long. Their schedule is tentative and will be specified based on the interest shown.

→ Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

There are three workshops; each participant can attend a combination of them. The exact schedule will be determined on the basis of interest.

1 | EpiGIS: a tool for collecting, managing and communicating epidemiological data

About what?
The workshop will introduce the EpiGIS tool for local epidemiological surveys in its basic functions for creating and managing survey forms, using forms to collect digital data with geographic location, correcting and filtering data, and visualizing it in graphs and maps.

What will you try practically?
Participants will build a form from pre-made templates and customize the form for the specifics of their epidemiological survey. They will use the form to test data entry.

2 | Maps in epidemiology: tips and tricks for creating them and using them carefully and correctly

About what?
Participants will work with practical techniques for creating maps for epidemiological surveys and communicating with the public using simple and accessible tools. It will include working with the widely used tools Mapy.cz and Google Maps, as well as other GIS and map-making tools. 

What will you practice?
Participants will create their own web map ready to be placed on the institution's website. Such a map can include an overview of emergencies or measures.
